Day 28
Hi dear readers… I’m writing this with very sleepy eyes. I think I’ll head straight to bed once I’m done with this. It’s been a long day — not the most intense one, but definitely the longest workout I’ve had in weeks. Maybe not more than a month, but definitely more than two weeks. I still remember the preseason training before I got my new boots… it was hell. The coaches pushed us hard to make sure we’d be fit before the league started.
Anyway, let’s dive into today’s story.
I woke up at 8 — one hour later than I had planned. The first thing I did was scroll through TikTok to shake off the morning dizziness. A few minutes later, I got into the first task of the day: studying JavaScript. I realized that when I built my first website, I was mostly copying code from tutorials without really understanding how it worked. That had to change. I knew that if I didn’t build a solid foundation now, it would eventually catch up with me.
In less than two hours, I was done with the day’s study goal. Then I headed to the kitchen 😂. It was clean — I just had to wash a few dishes from breakfast. I ate, and afterward, I picked up The Art of Getting Things Done, a book I’ve been reading for the past two weeks. Oh man, it’s such a good one. It’s all about managing time effectively and staying productive in a chaotic world. The author’s ideas really hit home.
After reading, I did a quick workout and stretched before heading out to pick up my ball from the cobbler. Once I got it, I came back home. It was already past lunch, and I had about 90 minutes before team training. I wanted to do two things within that time: test my new boots in a short solo session and do some digging on a few React concepts I still didn’t fully understand.
I decided to start with React first — I knew if I started training, football would take over my mind completely 😂. After a bit of research, I grabbed my ball and began my solo session. I started with 22 kick-ups on my left foot, then 22 on my right, and finally 22 alternating between both — the number symbolizing my age. Then I said a short prayer before starting drills.
Playing in the new boots felt both comfortable and strange. The grip was better, but my touch was slightly off — probably because I hadn’t trained properly for two weeks. I felt like I’d forgotten some of my instincts. My moves weren’t as automatic as before. But I’ll fix that.
After the solo session, I headed for team training. We had an indoor friendly — just a match among ourselves. I’ll be brief: I didn’t play my best. 🥲 Partly because I’m still regaining match sharpness, and partly because I forgot my playing socks. Yeah… rookie mistake. But honestly, I can’t blame myself. I was just so excited to finally be back on the pitch.
So yeah — that was my day. It wasn’t exciting, but it was perfect. I did everything I needed to do to move closer to my dream. Now I just need to do those things better next time.
To achieve what you want, be boring. Follow your routine. Within no time, you’ll surprise yourself with the results.
