Day 6

Today I woke up full of energy. The previous night’s rain gave me one of those heavy, peaceful sleeps 😴. After breakfast, I was ready to leave my mom’s workplace and head home. She dropped me off at the bus station in the nearest town and — shockingly — there was only one van available. What a contrast to the city where we actually live!

The short trip ended up taking over an hour because the van kept stopping every few minutes to pick up more passengers. I won’t lie, it tested my patience 😤. Next time I’m definitely taking an Uber — it’d be so much more convenient.

After arriving in our neighbourhood, I couldn’t help but notice how different it felt. Nothing had really changed — same roads, same houses — but somehow, it all looked new. It reminded me of how it feels to step back onto the pitch after missing football for a while. The grass, the lines, even the smell — everything’s the same, but it feels different. Maybe that’s what growth is: when familiar things start to feel fresh again. Like your eyes have levelled up without you even realising it.

Once home, I went straight into my usual routine. The kitchen was spotless this time 😂 — no roaches in sight! Looks like my work from a few days ago actually paid off. After that, I had a short solo training session — just 20 minutes since I was in a rush. But like I said yesterday: even a small effort matters. Improve by 1% each day and by the end of the year, you’ll be 38 times better. That session might’ve been short, but it counted 💪.

Later, I headed to school to finalize some issues about my attachment. I ran into the chairman of our department, and he reminded me to take my final-year project seriously because he saw a lot of potential in it. (I’ll tell you more about that project soon — it’s one of the reasons I’ll become the greatest footballer in my country 😉).

After that, I met up with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while — lots of catching up to do. As evening came, I had two options: go play football with my homies on the turf, or hit my usual dance class. It was a tough choice — do I go for what I love, or stick to what I do?

In the end, I chose discipline. I stuck to the plan and trusted the process. And it paid off — today’s dance session was 🔥. We learned new dancehall moves, and for once, I picked them up easily. The huzz will definitely love these moves 😂💯.

Routine might sound boring, but that’s where the magic hides. Stick to it long enough and one day, it won’t just be routine — it’ll be greatness.

Anyway, that’s it for today. I’ll see you in tomorrow’s chapter.
