Day 7
I’m actually writing this blog in the morning of Day 8. You might ask why — well, it’s simple: I fell asleep, and it was already late. Anyway, here’s how Day 7 went down.
I woke up at around 9 a.m. yesterday and started with my chores. It’s routine — part of my system — something I always do. Lately, it seems like there aren’t any roaches π I guess my early efforts really paid off. After that, I jumped into my solo football training. Phew! It had been a while since I had a full session.
I usually start with juggling — both legs, then my strong foot (the right one), and finally my weak foot. But yesterday, something shocked me. My weak foot had actually caught up! I was juggling better with it than I was with my right foot. Maybe I shouldn’t even call it my “weak” foot anymore.
Next came the wall drill. I kicked the ball against the wall, controlled it with 4 or 5 touches, then repeated. My left foot still wasn’t as good as my right, but I was miles ahead of where I’d been a few weeks ago. Then I moved into ball mastery — V-drags, La Croqueta, L-drags, and freestyle moves with stepovers. Funny thing is, I’m actually good at these skills, but I rarely use them in games. What a waste of potential π₯² If I did, my performance would probably skyrocket tenfold.
After training, I wanted to study React, but the WiFi hadn’t been paid for. I could’ve bought bundles, but it didn’t feel worth it. You know how it is — internet bundles in my country vanish faster than rain in the desert. So instead, I used the little data I had to chat with my friends on WhatsApp.
Somehow, that turned into a three-hour session. Damn — how do we use the internet for hours without realizing time is flying? Honestly, whoever figures out how to stop doomscrolling will be a billionaire.
Around 5 p.m., I switched gears and took my Spanish lessons on Duolingo. Just a few quick ones — I’m starting to get the hang of it now. Later, I watched some YouTube clips of people dancing dancehall. The dancers were insane — completely in sync, not missing a single beat. That’s what I aspire to be like one day.
I then freshened up and headed to school for dance practice. I arrived a bit late, but people hadn’t started yet. As I was greeting everyone, I noticed something — one of the dancers was on her phone using Duolingo. Curious, I asked what language she was learning. Turns out, it was Spanish too! She told me she’d been learning for over a year and was already watching Spanish movies. Damn — she’s fast! Or maybe that’s what consistency does. Signs everywhere π God keeps sending me reminders to stay consistent.
We eventually began dancing. We reviewed the dancehall moves we’d learned the night before, and I killed it. I mean — what did you expect? I’m him π. Later, we learned a choreography for the song “Gymnastics” by Olivetheboy. That dance was something else. It even had a duet section — a boy and a girl. Or in Spanish, el niΓ±o y la niΓ±a. I didn’t get all the moves yet, but I’m determined to master it. And who knows? You might just see me in a dance video for that song soon π.
Afterward, I met my friend, who wanted to use some WiFi at a local chill spot. I told him we had WiFi at home since my mom had just paid for it. He came along, but his device (a laptop-tablet hybrid) had a problem — he needed to press the Esc key for it to work, and the keyboard wasn’t responding. So I let him use my laptop to log into his Instagram account. We talked for a while, and later, I walked him halfway home — classic boys’ stuff π.
On my way back, I realized he hadn’t logged out of his Instagram. What should I do with that info, hmm?
Anyway guys, that’s it for today — or more specifically, for yesterday π. If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that consistency leads to growth.
It’s like watering a plant: you don’t see it grow every day, but one morning you wake up and realize it’s taller — just like your dreams when you stay consistent.
